Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy & Somatic Practice

I am a yoga therapist, yoga teacher, breathwork practitioner, and somatic therapist offering a trauma-informed approach to healing.

With over 1440 hours of training in yoga, breathwork, and somatic practices, my work goes beyond traditional yoga. I support people to reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and work with the underlying patterns that drive stress, trauma, mobility conditions and illness.

My own journey into yoga began in 2006 as a way to manage stress and anxiety. What started as simply trying to keep up in a class has evolved into a deeply embodied practice and professional path grounded in both lived experience and clinical expertise.

Today, I bring together yoga therapy, breathwork, somatic practices, and knowledge of trauma and mental health to support holistic healing - physically, emotionally, intellectually, energetically and spiritually.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals across a range of needs, offering tailored, trauma-informed support:

Trauma & Nervous System Support
Supporting complex and developmental trauma, chronic stress, and nervous system dysregulation through gentle, body-based approaches.

Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing
Working with anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional overwhelm by integrating psychological and somatic practices.

NDIS, Mobility & Physical Health Support
Supporting people with chronic illness, mobility challenges, neurological conditions, and psychosocial disabilities through adapted yoga therapy and personalised care.

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and may be offered one-on-one or in small, supported settings.

What’s the Difference Between Yoga Therapy and a General Yoga?

Yoga therapy is a personalised, therapeutic approach that addresses the whole person - not just the physical body.

It begins with an in-depth assessment to understand your unique history, nervous system, health, and goals. From this, a tailored practice is developed to support your specific needs.

Your program may include:

  • Breathwork (pranayama)

  • Movement (asana) adapted to your body

  • Meditation and awareness practices

  • Lifestyle and nervous system support

Yoga therapy is collaborative and empowering, supporting you to connect with your body, your breath, and your own inner awareness.

In contrast, general yoga classes are designed for broader groups, with less individual assessment and personalisation.

The International Association of Yoga Therapists defines yoga therapy as:"the process of empowering individuals to progress towards improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga."
