Thank you for your interest in body-mind therapies for mental health, trauma, physical health needs, chronic illness and disease. I am a mental health therapist, but I focus is also on symptoms and trauma held within the body.
What to expect:
An initial connection call so you can find out more about me and how I work, so you can ask me questions. I can also find out more about you, your wishes and your needs. We discuss whether we may be a good fit to work together.
I'll ask you to complete an intake form so I can get some more information about you before our first session. This will include information about confidentiality, consent and data protection.
A therapy session can include the following modalities can be integrated into a mental health therapy sessions, or you may have a strong preferences for the modality you would like to experience, which we can discuss in a connection call, the initial session, or at any time in the therapy journey:
Somatic Experiencing
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Counselling
Positive Psychology
Yoga Therapy
Breathwork/Pranayama (yogic breathwork)
I'm an NDIS provider and I see clients for a range of psychosocial disabilities. I will complete a service agreement with you before we commence sessions.
FAQ: "How does a body-mind therapy session differ from a Somatic Experiencing therapy session?" ~ A body-mind therapy session can incorporate Somatic Experiencing, but it can also flexibly incorporate other mental health modalities such as ACT, CBT, yoga therapy and breathwork strategies. Where as a Somatic Experiencing session would focus specifically on Somatic Experiencing only.
